BIO

El Paso, Texas based rock band The Iveys are well-rounded & well-traveled, having performed more than 200 shows in support of their self-titled debut produced by Italian producer Ettore Grenci.  After its release in ‘09, The Iveys hit the road in earnest, criss-crossing the states numerous times and garnering a healthy fan base along the way.

Now, the group is preparing for the next chapter in their musical journey after recently wrapping up recording for their 2nd studio album set to be released in January, 2012. Writing music based on their life experiences has come naturally to them, & band leader Arlen Ivey, one of three siblings that front the band along with sisters Jessica and Jillian, says the new music is a bit different than previous work.

“This album is going to have a little more of an edge, plus we're going to self-produce it so it's going to be a very new and interesting experience for all of us,” said Arlen.

The Iveys are clearly a group that is shaped by multiple influences, and the end result is a sound that might remind listeners of acts from The Eagles to The Avett Brothers, to Matchbox Twenty. But with what they've been listening to in the van as they travel the highways, it's clear that the new material is going to be different, and that progression is normal in the life of any band.

"I think every song you listen to impacts you in a certain way, a lot of the time you might not even realize it, but it definitely affects you,” says Jessica.  Adds Jillian, “Of course we're still inspired by the music we grew up listening to (and we still listen to) but recently we've been listening to more indie artists.  We really like the images and stories these artists have been able to create through their music.”

Whether acoustically or with a full band, The Iveys have big goals.  They are young, hungry and immensely talented, and are gaining the songwriting prowess and performing chops needed to reach new and exciting heights.

“Every day we grow a little more as songwriters and musicians, and just over all life experience,” says Jillian.  “We want the new songs to showcase where we are now as people and as artists. The goal is to get our music to the ears of as many people as possible."
