It's almost as if I have musical ADD except I'm collecting and retaining the information. I can go from The Clash to Dylan to Cindy Lauper in a matter of just a few minutes. I've also been geeking out ever so slightly listening to lost recordings of Buddy Holly. Some demos he did in his apartment in NYC in the late 50's. It's crazy to think he recorded them in his apartment long before technology made it so easy. He had a GIANT 2-Track machine, and probably used a Nueman mic as well. That's all for now. We've been semi quiet the past few weeks as we've been work our asses off. Here's a recap of what we've been up to and what to expect over the next year. We've just confirmed a new show July 24th, 2010 at the Fine Line Music Cafe. Check it. Get there. http://standardthompson.com/shows Shooting for our upcoming video for the song "Fireworks" wrapped up 2 weeks ago with renowned minneapolis director Justin Staggs (http://justinstaggs.com). Minneapolis' World Record Productions (James Harley and Jeremy Tappero) remixed "Fireworks" as well as 2 other ST tunes to be included in the Fireworks video digital release (the sound sick as shit, those boys are genius) due out later this summer. Stay tune for a release date! We will be going back into the studio with In The Groove and our trusty sidekick Drew Lerdal in about a month or so to start recording a few tunes for mini release due out this fall. Soon after that release we'll begin working on a follow up to MN4TBH due out spring 2011.
