Greetings fellow rock & rollers! We wanted to interrupt this regularly scheduled program with a quick update, our BRAND NEW 30 day free trial! That’s right, a 30 day free trial – no strings attached.
Ok seriously – we did just launch a brand new feature with eBandLive that gives anyone the ability to create a trial account, play with our backstage, and see just how slick and easy it is to create and manage content in eBandLive. We encourage any artist to check out some of the beautiful designs we’ve launched, create your very own test account and get a feel for what a content management system built for musicians can do. Feel free to contact our artist relations team if you have any questions or want get rockin’ with an eBandLive site of your very own.
Am I the only cat who can’t wait for Thanksgiving where in true American fashion we stuff our faces with excess food and gently slip into a turkey-induced coma? Excuse me mom, I’d like to supersize it and yes…I want fries with that! Only a few more days folks…let’s keep together until then, huh? Meanwhile, chew on these tasty morsels coming atcha like drummy and a hill of buttery mashed potatoes!
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band
Dan put together this gnarly design for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. DDBB got their start in the late 70’s in the good ol’ south. New Orleans, 7th Ward to be exact. They’ve been swinging records since the 1980’s on Columbia Records and beyond.
The Iveys
This West Texas trio will keep you thoroughly entertained with their beautiful lyrics and professional sound. This is a great design, but was NOT done by the ebandLive crew. Nope. This design was carefully crafted by Darci Fray. Darci has done some great work for Johnny Cash, Augustana, Veruca Salt and more. Thanks for picking us Darci! She used our wireframe to design a super neat website on the ebandLive engine. So if you’ve got a great designer or are a designer yourself and really like the features we offer (and we know you do)… just contact us and we’ll take your creation and integrate it into our engine. Simple as that.
Irish Christmas in America
Celebrating its fifth year, the lively holiday show “Irish Christmas in America” comes to the States with some of Ireland’s top traditional artists. This fascinating performance features Irish music, dance and stories of seasonal Irish traditions. We’re proud to become internationalized and to be able to host some really great traditional Irish music. Marie Bushbaum, a designer from Minneapolis, put this design together and we integrated it into the ebandLive engine. Thanks Marie. I haven’t got an Irish bone in my body but this really makes me want to dance a little jig for ye all to see!
Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice… Corey and Kevin have been re-working the Backstage with all sorts of gadgets, whizzbangs and dilly-whos it’ll make you wanna sop ‘em up with a biscuit! Stay tuned for more on that.
To all in the US, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Signing off…
Hello all, Jeremiah here with a long overdue post! Our blog was neglected like a red-headed stepchild and we apologize. A lot has happened since the last post, so let’s get started with the big news. Unless you know Dan and I personally then you are probably not aware that we entered into a flurry of discussions about an acquisition/partnership of eband by a local Minneapolis firm. Yup, it’s true. After months of telephone conversations, emails, meetings, lunches, lawyers and handshakes we’ve officially joined the ranks of the big leagues! ebandLive has been acquired by Rumble / GoKart Labs! Woo hoo!
About Rumble Rumble is a full-service music salon, serving artists and clients in the advertising, television, film and recording industries. They create and produce original music for advertising, television, film, and alternative media across all genres and formats. They recently added Composer/Producer Tommy Barbarella to the crew. Over the past two decades, Tommy has made his mark composing, touring, recording and performing with Prince, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Art Garfunkel, Ziggy Marley, Love and Rockets and Jonny Lang. His recent credits include 7 Things I Hate About You by Miley Cyrus (Top 10), Graham Colton’s Here Right Now (#2 Billboard Heatseekers), string arrangements for Switchfoot’s Nothing Is Sound (Top 10, Gold) and Backstreet Boys album Never Gone (Platinum), as well as the upcoming albums from Jon McLaughlin and Jonas Brothers’ co-star Demi Lovato.
About GoKart GoKart is the creative think tank branch chock full of graphic artists, UI designers, programmers and various other forms of artistic nerdery. Their work speaks for itself. Check em out!
Among Rumble and GoKart founders is THE mad scientist behind the red velvet curtain, Don Smithmier, who also served a key role in starting Capella University and was also named one of the top business people/entrepreneurs under 40 by Minneapolis Business Journal. (He’s really smart!) If that wasn’t cool enough, he’s also a musician! Yup he sings/plays keys in Rocket Club, who by the way have been making their way up the National Country Music Charts.
Art + Music = Pure Awesomeness
Well, if you haven’t figured out by now that the partnership was a match made in heaven and that I make excessive use of forward slashes… then well. Umm. Read it again? I don’t know.
We’d proud to announce our first ever eBandLive showcase show. We reached out to a few of the bands we’ve made websites for and got a killer lineup together. Thanks to our buddy Adam Turman for the amazing 3 color screen printed posters which will be available for sale at the show for $10. Hope to see you all out on June 20th, 2009.
I just watched the video of Rocket Club performing an unplugged set on Showcase Minnesota. I’m blown away by their talent, so definitely check it out. You can also catch them on Cities 97 and K102.
If you have something newsworthy, we are always up for posting here in the blog. Just send an email to info{at}ebandlive[dot]com and we’ll share the news.
We are super stoked to welcome Pittsburgh, PA rockers The Londonbuy Heathen Chemistry mp3 album to ebandLive! We will be designing their new website and they will be using the Backstage to manage their site. If you haven’t heard these guys, you need to! Right now actually. Go to their Myspace site by going here: http://www.myspace.com/thelondonband. They hail from PA and will soon be releasing their EP titled, “Young And In Love” out in stores on February 23rd. The EP will have six songs recorded and produced by Grammy Award Winning producer Stephen Short (Genesis, Paul McCartney, Augustana, Ben Folds Five, Modern English). Their CD release show will be at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh with The Dreaming (with Chris with Stabbing Westward’s new band). So if you’re in the area, you definitely need to make it to the show or else we will not hesitate to punch you square in the collective mouth.watch zoolander in divx
for the great writeup featuring ebandLive on their website! Iddictive serves up a daily dose of innovative business ideas to inspire entrepreneurial juices and soothe insatiable curiosities.
Happy Friday! I hope you’re as happy as I am that the weekend is here! I have some good news to bring to you all. One of our web creations, Rocket Club, was featured in Smashing Magazine’s article called “Textures in Modern Web Design.” This was a nice little surprise to us, as avid readers of Smashing Magazine. Thanks guys!
No doubt this kind of attention speaks volumes for our work. And for ebandLive bands, it’s the kind of attention that translates into record sales, great gigs, recognition from music industry folk and last but not least, fans! (psst… and we’re only getting warmed up!)
Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! If you’re in Minneapolis, it’s bitter cold today. So keep warm if you’re out and about.
Meanwhile, check out the new features in the Backstage under the Media > Music section. We’ve added a feature where you can easily sort your uploaded MP3s on your website’s media page via our new drag and drop feature. Also coming very soon will be our new streaming music player. Along with this new player you will be able to add and remove uploaded songs from your playlist and sort them via the new drag and drop feature. Enjoy!
Happy New Year from us to all of you. Thank you for making 2008 a success. We are very excited about some new developments in the ebandLive camp. If things go as planned, it will mean big things for us and our bands! I know I’m being vague but I can’t publicly comment on the details yet. Big things are in store this year. With that, we wish you a very happy and prosperous 2009!
We’d love to welcome rocket club to the ebandLive family! Here’s what they say about themselves.
“Hailing from Minneapolis, Rocket Club’s debut CD has traces of some of their home state’s storied artists, with lush melodies and harmonies reminiscent of the Jayhawks, lyrics that have an approachable intelligence similar to those of Dan Wilson, and the occasional rock outburst that harkens back to Soul Asylum.
Band members Chris Hawkey (Vocals, Guitars), Matt Kirkwold (Vocals, Guitars), Brian Kroening (Guitars) and Don Smithmier (Vocals, Keyboards) constitute an eclectic mix. Chris Hawkey has built a strong regional following in with his two solo CD’s, “Minutes to Memories” and “The Pursuit.” Matt Kirkwold has been one of the region’s top music producers in rock in recent years (QuietDrive, Throw the Fight, American Taxi), while Kroening and Smithmier share a long history of writing and performing together, most notably with their heralded 90’s alt-rock band, Seventeen Rhinos.
The four came together to form Rocket Club in pursuit of their shared love for great hooks, rich harmonies, and crafted storytelling–all with an Americana twist and rock edge.” myspace.com/rocketclub
I rely on my iPhone so much these days. Yes, I’m the proud owner of a cool little 3G and yes I used to be an Apple iPhone hater too. But with all the handy features and the App Store, it’s difficult to deny the benefits. Especially with quicker Internet access and improvements in Safari. Millions of iPhone owners browse the Internet on their phones everyday. Why miss out on millions of potential fans when you can easily have a mobile site that is specifically designed for them?
ebandLive iPhone Mobile Sites
With every ebandLive subscription account (You Design, We Design and soon to be released Ready-Made) comes a FREE iPhone/Mobile version of your site. That’s FREE as in, “no cost.”
How Do I Update My iPhone/Mobile Site?
Any change that you make to your site through the ebandLive Backstage will automatically update your iPhone/Mobile site. There is no separate login to remember, no separate website address to remember and no reason to re-type anything. Do it once and be done. It slices…it dices… it does your laundry… And it all happens automatically. Kind of like a magic trick, only without the tight leather pants, frilly pirate shirts and background music blaring “The Final Countdown” by Europe.
We’d like to announce plans to launch our new Artist Management Feature. This new feature enables record labels, band managers and artist management agencies to efficiently and easily manage an unlimited number of their bands’ websites with a single account.
First, a band needs to be signed up with the ebandLive service, login to the Backstage, navigate to My Account –> Users, then select the type of user (Band Member or Band Manager), fill in the appropriate information and click submit. Soon after the band manager will be emailed all the pertinent information needed to login and begin. That’s it!
Manage more than one band?mist the download free
No problemo. The new Artist Management feature is designed to manage an unlimited number of ebandLive band websites. Nifty eh?
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It comes FREE with every ebandLive subscription account.
When does it become available?
The new feature will become available on Monday December 1st, 2008.
“Being able to easily manage an unlimited number of artist websites through a single account will undoubtedly make the business of managing artists more efficient and cost-effective. Coupled together with professional design, affordability and ease of use makes choosing ebandLive an easy decision,” said Jeremiah Talamantes, Founder of ebandLive.com.

Hey all, we’re happy to announce that Danger Is My Middle Name (DIMMN) has officially launched their site ! Danger hails from Chicago amid the ashes of bands like, August Premier, Blacktop Mourning, The White Tie Affair, and Witroy. Katie and I managed to catch them on their Minneapolis stop on the Warped Tour; great show! So head on over and listen to some great music: http://www.dimmn.com
We’re putting the final touches on the Danger Is My Middle Name site. Danger is a great band from Chicago! Their site should be up real soon. The band will be inputting content most likely today and tomorrow. We hope to have their site live and in production by this Friday. Speaking of which, if you are in or will be in the Portage Indiana area this Friday, they are playing a show with Punchline and Asteria. Also, they are playing in Chicago on Saturday again with Punchline at The Metro.
We will be announcing a few more new bands to the ebandLive family shortly. One of our next Premium Service bands will be Goodbye Elliott from Hawaii.
site is coming along nicely and we’re inching our way towards the launch of the Ready Made service.
I attended the ReadyGoes, Dropping Daylight and Spirit of 76′ haloween show last night…great rock ensued. I had never seen the Spirit of 76 previous to last night and let me just say…wow. What an entertaining band. Great music, great presence, all around awesome. Dropping Daylight slammed, as always. They played a couple of new tunes and i believe they are in the process of recording their new disc. Great stuff so keep an eye out for that soon. Readygoes, well what can i say, always awesome. k…gotta run…got some DIMMN to finish.
ReadyGoes, from Minneapolis, has officially launched their new website designed and powered by ebandLive! Visit their site at www.readygoes.com. Use the same URL to view the iPhone friendly version of the website. Add their RSS feeds so you don’t miss out on all the action.
Also check out their newly released music video here or on their new website. If you’re in the Minneapolis area, ReadyGoes is playing this Friday at the Fine Line in downtown Minneapolis with Dropping Daylight and Spirit of ‘76. It should be a great show.
but don’t think that’s all we have to offer. ebandLive’s flagship service hasn’t been launched….yet! What is the flagship service? Our Ready Made service.
Ready Made Websites
Ok so you’re the lucky guy in the band who’s mission it is to get your band a swanky website. Well, wouldn’t it be great to not have to bother taking the hours upon days upon weeks it takes to design and develop your band’s website only to hear your singer say he hates it? Ok so maybe you don’t know how to do all that fancy web design stuff and you have to pay someone to do it for you. Like,…….that one kid down the street who’s really “into computers.” Sure you only paid him $100 right? But….now you’re stuck with a website that looks like it cost $100. Is that the kind of image you want for your band? (Psst…the answer is No. You were better off without a website) Worse yet, you go to a professional design firm that does great work but they want you to fork over $4,000! (For a design an insurance company could’ve used, no less). So what’s a rockstar gotta do to get a band website around here?
Fear not, my friends. ebandLive’s Ready Made service provides bands with the means to obtain their own website easily, stylishly and affordably. The service addresses 3 major hurdles bands face: Ease, Style and Price. EASE – because it must be easy for fans to use and easy for you to sign up, setup and manage. Our content management system (aka Backstage) is here to make managing your site a breeze and our video tutorials will make it even easier. STYLE – almost self-explanatory, right? In order to be recognized, your image has to be top notch whether you’re a weekend band or a band with bigger plans. We offer a pool of highly stylish ready-made designs. Simply select a design that you feel best suits your band. PRICE – no matter what the economy is like, band budgets are tight! Plus, your guitarist can’t seem to hold down a steady job so you’ve got to make up for it. But that’s another story. You pay only $19.95 per month. Cancel at any time; no contracts or committments.
What do you get?
I’m glad….I asked. Features like: fan mailing list, news, shows, blogging, audio, video, pictures, links, analytics, email, web hosting, multi-level users, RSS feeds, mobile/iphone versions of your site and more. Not to mention we’ve got a long list of new features we are excited about adding after our initial launch. Those extra features will be provided to you at NO additional cost.

Hey, relax! Not so fast hot shot. We’re still busy turning knobs, switching switches and pulling levers. The Ready Made service is not quite ready for prime time. We want to make sure we’ve got a solid product before we launch. We are estimating (emphasis on estimating) that our Ready Made service will launch sometime early next year, but possibly sooner. Go on over to our main site and signup for our newsletter to stay informed!
We’ve officially launched the ebandLive public site. Go here to visit our new site! As part of the site launch, we’ve also launched our Premium Design Service. The Premium Design Service comes in two parts: We Design and You Design.
We Design
With the We Design service, it’s just that. We work with the band to build a professional website unique and totally customized to the band’s input/image. Along with the design service comes all of the ebandLive features (RSS feeds, itunes integration, fan list, mobile and iPhone versions of the site, hosting, email, analytics, music player, news, shows, blogs, links, bio, contacts and more).
You Design
With the You Design service, your graphic designer can use our wireframe as a framework to construct your new site. We at eband then take the design and retrofit it into the ebandLive content management engine. As if that wasn’t enough, naturally you get all of the great features every ebandLive site gets (RSS feeds, itunes integration, fan list, mobile and iPhone versions of the site, hosting, email, analytics, music player, news, shows, blogs, links, bio, contacts and more).
Coming Soon…
Within the next few months, the ready-made design service is scheduled to be launch. This is ebandLive’s flagship product. Within minutes you can setup an account, enter your band content, pick a ready-made design and have a professional band website up and running in no time. Sign up for the newsletter to stay informed.
We are happy to announce that eBandLive will go live with our Premium Design service on October 1, 2008! Also going live on this date will be our featured band website, Ready Goes, who will be sporting a fresh new look crafted by none other than us. Are you still there? Because I’m about to slap you in the face with another cheek-numbing scoop. Also on October 1, 2008 we will be launching our brand spankin new website! I know you’ve all grown to love this blog but it’s time to say, a-buh bye.
Premium Design
As I stated earlier, our featured band will be Ready Goes, of Minneapolis MN. The band will be sporting one of our premium designs. Premium designs are custom made designs for those who want a more polished look. We work with the band to create a unique one-off website customized to the band’s taste/image.
Don’t worry, our ready-made design subscription service will be launched very soon. In the meantime, keep coming back because we’ll be posting more featured bands! And don’t forget about Oct 1!
Ready Goes, of our very own Minneapolis, MN will be among the first to go live with our custom design service on Sept 30. You can check out their music here. If you haven’t heard them yet, trust us you won’t be disappointed. While you’re at it, check out their cool video too.
We recently confirmed their management agency’s interest in going live with a custom design backed by the eBand management engine. We’re stoked. They’re stoked. It’s all good. So drink and be merry…..or be Mary, if that’s your thing.
So if you’re wondering why www.ebandlive.com points to this blog… wonder no more. Here is what is going to happen. First, we’re going to announce the “launch” date and on that date we will be sporting our new digital threads. When will that be? Will this be the full fledged launch? We’ll answer that in the next blog post.
It seems like every week is packed full of great progress and wonderful new sign ups. We are forming some great partnerships early in the game. Not only are we staying on top of what the modern band needs to rise above the rest in the competitive music industry, but we’re learning what makes the fans, record labels and talent management teams mouths drool. It’s this attention to detail, desire to help our fellow musicians, desire to become the best, and the great team of core people which will make eBand, in the words of Borat, “Great Success!”
Next week we will announce the ebandLive launch date and also welcome another great band! So don’t miss out! Keep it here…
a middle name! But don’t get me started on that…it’s another story altogether. Anyway… we’re excited to report that Chicago rock band, Danger Is My Middle Name, is expected to sign on as a Legend member on eBand. DIMMN has recently come off the prestigious Van’s Warped Tour where Katie and I managed to catch their awesome live show as they pulled through Minneapolis. We have plenty more big band signups to announce as soon as they are confirmed. Soon, eBand will become available to the general public although we’re not ready to announce that date yet. Each and every delay is worthwhile because it means that eBand will be that much better. Like buttah only smoother, or something.
Things are moving along at a steady pace. Dan has been hard at work on the front-end web pages and is nearly complete, minus some copy work and tweaks here and there. Jeremiah has been finalizing the sign up process and tidying up the Backstage. Last night’s meeting was highly productive. We defined some major improvement projects after the initial launch. We’re all so stoked about that. We can’t tell you yet, all I can say is stay tuned.
Katie
Project Manager
Katie’s job at eBandLive is one of the most important here. She is responsible for facilitating the launch of eBand, keeping everyone on task, project documentation, facilitating meetings and our den mother. Now if we could just get her to bake cookies for every meeting!
Some of Katie’s favorite bands are: Bayside, Mayday Parade, Counting Crows, Alanis Morrisette, Anberlin, John Butler Trio, Ani DeFranco and Indigo Girls. Some of her favorite things are: travel, movies, listen to music, watch live music, hang out with friends, read, spend time with her boyfriend and go to the cabin.
She used to live in Spain, Guatemala and Australia. Her favorite food is pizza and her favorite book is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. If stranded on desert island she couldn’t live without: iPod, pizza, cell phone, comfy clothes and a raft.
Thank you for taking the time to read our blog. Also, we appreciate your continued patience as we move forward with eBand development! We are looking forward to our launch date so please keep your browser pointed here.

What kind of totally sweet stuff are you working on for future enhancements?

Why a monthly fee?
Simple. Why pay in excess of up to $3,000 in one GINORmous lump sum for a professional website when it’s more economical to pay a low monthly fee of about $20? Do the math. (
Who is it for?
Bands, solo artists, musicians and DJs of ALL genres!
Hopefully that gives you all a little insight as to what eBandLive is all about. We’re truckin along and things are progressing. We hope to announce a release date soon. So once again, please keep your browser pointed here for the latest and greatest.
we’re making great progress on eBand. We hope to have the public front-end up in the next two weeks. Final revisions will be completed by Friday and we will soon see it up online. We’re not quite ready to announce a launch date, but believe me we’re anxious to do so. I think all of us here want to have outstandingly stable service first and foremost.
On a side note, don’t count on us working this weekend. Warped Tour will be making its way through Minneapolis and you can bet that we will be there!
In the meantime, you can stay updated by keeping an eye on this blog or by subscribing to the RSS newsfeed. If you’re into texting, and you probably are….text the word EBANDLIVE to 41411.
Welcome to the eBandLive blog. The purpose of this blog is to keep all informed of the progress we’re making. As you know, eBand isn’t available to the public just yet. While we’re working out the bugs, we have a select group of bands that are helping us beta test. In the end, we hope to put together an even better product with help from the beta test group. I will be updating this page as often as necessary.
So again, welcome to the blog. Enter your email address at the bottom of the page so we can keep you updated!
